The Third WEDNESDAY is always UNTITLED!

This upcoming Untitled Open Mic on November 20th we will be coming together as a community to share in Douglas’ memory. It is with deep sadness to share with you all the news of the passing of our dear friend and cofounder of the Lowell Poetry Wheel, Dr. Douglas Bishop.

Douglas passed away on October 25, 2024. He is survived by a wife, family and community who will all grieve his passing and the many moments that could have been.

But in his physical absence, his spirit, personality, and legacy remain to guide us and we will continue to honor his memory by maintaining the bonds of community and artistic pedagogy he forged for, in and with us.

A very short and limited open mic to begin. Then we will have a dedicated and extended open mic to celebrate, pay tribute, and share stories in honor and remembrance to our dear friend Dr. Dougie Fresh. There will be separate sign-ups for each of the open mics, with the tribute open mic being organized by those who are comfortable with being recorded and live-streamed to start, following the latter portion of the open mic with the stream ending.
